We gathered on the eve of Martin Luther King Day for a Summit or united prayer and worship. Leaders from across Chicagoland read scripture passages and excerpts from "Letter from Birmingham Jail", and we prayed in response to the powerful truths and words shared.
- We lamented the history of racism and segregation in our nation's history.
- We cried out for healing along the lines of race in Chicago.
- We prayed for oneness in the Church in Chicago.
- We committed ourselves to 'wear' our prayers in our communities.
It was a beautiful and powerful night. May God move us forward in continued prayer, faith filled action, and united partnership in the Church in Chicago.
